I will allow myself to potentially embarrass myself further by stating some information about who I am. (Now if that isn't a horrible, grammatical nightmare of a sentence.) I have a writing degree and while studying as an undergraduate I had to take poetry courses. I loved writing poetry as well as prose, but I always knew my poetry was less than stellar. In these courses we had to write so many poems a week and then had to hand them out to our classmates so they could read them and critique us. I was very nervous and apprehensive. I had never really shown my work to anyone; furthermore this would mean I would be exposing myself to graduate students as well as college peers who I saw on a daily basis. Embarrassment was inevitable. Looking back, I am glad I went through these courses because it allowed me to put myself out there- it definitely toughened my skin....
So with that here is some poems I have included.... I will add more when I begin to write new ones. This is a sample of my collection. I am by no means saying I write well, but enjoy for whatever it is worth.
